Afferent pupillary defect, also known as Marcus Gunn pupil is a defect of the eye that can be caused by:

1. Trauma

2.Optic neuritis

3. Ischaemic optic neuropathy

4.Asymmetric glaucoma

5.Optic nerve compression

It is a defect of the eye in which a person's pupil is found to constrict less when a light is shone from one eye( unaffected eye) to the other( affected eye).
