friend, air pollution is caused because of various means
one of it is burning of cruid oil ie petrol, desil, etc. which is very harmful today rather than this various other things such as industrys, factorys which emit gasses such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc are very harmful.
Air pollution is harmful as it also causes thermal pollution which is destroying earth today before some years it have made a hole in ozone layer of earth due to which danger of UV rays on earth was increased.
