The rotation of earth causes day and night.

so,
when sun rays falls on first part of the earth, on that part there will be day and in another part it will be night.
After rotation the another part will have sunrays and day but the first part will not be able to recive sun rays so there will be night .

so, by this we can conclude that the rotation of earth causes day and night.
