what causes eyes to produce tears? why are tears saline? how are tears ueful to eyes?

Tears are produced by a special gland called the lacrimal glands or the tear gland. It is saline because there are some dissolved salt present in it. It's salinity property helps us by cleaning away the germs present in the eyes and keeps it clean and fresh. Hope this helps!
