The causes of landslides are usually related to instabilities in slopes. Generally when the earthquake occurs on the slopes then the soil of that area slips and causes landslides. It also occurs naturally and sometimes it occurs due to some human activities.

Naturally by :-

 1. Certain vibrations by earthquake.
 2. Eruptions of volcano.
 3. By river eriptions.

Human activities :-

1. Deforestation.
2. Mining activities.
3. Displacement of rocks.
