What causes the folding & drooping of leaves of Mimosa ?

Leaves of the sensitive plant protect themselves from predators and environmental conditions by folding in response to touch ..when the Mimosa pudica ,commonly known as the sensitive plant ,is touched by another organisms ,its leaves fold in upon themselves ans its stems droop.
