Answer:

Cavities are permanently damaged areas in the hard surface of your teeth that develop into tiny openings or holes. Cavities, also called tooth decay or caries, are caused by a combination of factors, including bacteria in your mouth, frequent snacking, sipping sugary drinks and not cleaning your teeth well.

Explanation:

Cavities are the microorganisms which live inside our mouth, produces different acids from the leftover food particles in our mouth and causes tooth decay. Due to the production of these acids, it causes bad breathe and tooth decay. This tooth decay is caused by dental caries, which are the microorganisms inside our mouth (mentioned above) and corrodes the enamel (which is the hardest substance in human body). Because of these reasons, it is always advised to brush our teeth twice a day to prevent dental caries and its related problems.
