There are several changes in uterus if the fertilization doesn't occur -
At first the ovum released by the ovary starts degenerating.
In the sequence of degenerating the the corpus luteum of the ovum releases such hormones which causes the degradation of uterus wall .
Fir the fertilization and implantation the uterus wall has already made itself three layered.
The three layers of the uterus for this fertilization are endometrium myometrium and parimetrium.
All the three layers starts degenerating.
The result of this degeneration of the walls is a event comes in womens that is call periods which is a part of menstrual cycle.
