\bf{What\:happens\:when\:the\:ovum/egg\\is\:not\:fertilized?}

When the ovum is not fertilized, the thick wall of uterus that was formed for the nourishment of the baby sheds down alongwith blood capillaries and egg.

This process is called MENSTRUATION which lasts for 4 - 5 days at an average.

heya mate!!

The thick and sponge lining of the uterus slowly breaks and comes out through the vagina as blood and mucous if fertilisation does not occur. This is known as menstruation and it lasts for about 2 to 8 days.
