Heya !

An order passed from Berlin to teach only German instead of French language in the schools of Alsace and Lorraine. The order caused many changes in school that day. There was a great silence all around the school. That day everything had to be as quiet as Sunday morning. M. Hamel wore a beautiful dress which he never wore except on inspection and prize day. His behaviour was unusually kind on author. The whole School seemed so strange and serious. However, one of the strangest thing was the presence of The villagers in the classroom. The former mayor, the former Postmaster and many other villagers were present. Everybody looked very sad. The order from Berlin had hurt their feelings. It had awakened in them the love for their native language.

Hey !!

The order from Berlin said that German was to be imposed in the French schools of the districts of Alsace and Lorraine. This upset the teachers as well as the students of the French schools in Alsace. The students were dismayed that it would be their last lesson in French.

Good luck !!
