Their costume gets hard and fat and has more number of phloem and xylem.

The external layer of a youthful stem winds up harder when it grow up as a tree it occurs because of Sclerenchyma tissue!

External layer of the trees is secured with bark, which gives it quality and shields the plant from damage and disease.
