The complex food is converted into simple form i.e maltose by using salivary gland maltose.

dude,

we take food in mouth with our hand...

and we chew it with our mouth.. during the time of chewing saliva (salivary amylase or ptlin...enzyme of saliva) which is present in our buccal cavity mix with food and change starch of food in sucrose or maltose...

these are some changes happened during digestion in mouth or buccal cavity.....

then food moves to stomach through the perastaltis movement of the gut......

and chemical digestion and mechanical churning of food takes place in stomach due to which it changed into paste form called chyme....

hope it helps you.......

and after food goes to small intestine through duodenum ( in which bile and pancreatic juice mixed.) .....

so, digestion is completed in small intestine....
