Yes definitely the education system of our
country needs dramatic changes. Today our
education system is classroom driven rather
than being practical. There are flaws in every
layer of our education curriculum.
The secondary education in our country is far
from reality and is nothing that can be
practically used in our lives. Most schools of
the country have to offer only three stream of
subjects- Non medical, Medical and Commerce.
Though CBSE has recommended a huge
number of combination of subjects, academic
as well as vocational, none of the schools
actually have to offer that.
All schools are preparing their students so that
they get good “marks” in their board exams and
subsequent entrance examinations thereby
corrupting the sheer essence of true education.Not everyone can afford the education system that they offer. Hence, the government needs to take the baton in their hands and eradicate rote learning from the schools at all the levels.
The schools must be encouraged to introduce conceptual learning which avoids students to mug up what they are being taught. While this will help students to understand the concepts better, they will also be able to retain and apply them better.
