What changes take place in the shape of eye lens: (a)when the eye is focused on a near object? (b)when the eye is focused on a distant object?

Ans a) When we are looking objects near to our eyes,the ciliary muscles contract.This increases the curvature of the eye lens.The eye lens then become thicker.Consequently, focal length of the eye lens decreases.thus enables us to see nearby objects clearly.

Ans b) When we look at distant object, ciliary muscles are relaxed,the lens become thin.Thus increases focal length. This enables us to see distant objects clearly.
