During the French revolution, certain changes were evidently seen. Citizens abandoned their extravagant way of dressing and instead, embraced simplicity and practicality. Their elaborate fashion and powdered wigs were replaced by plain and practical clothing. Hairstyles were kept short and simple.
A strong sense of National Identity arose from the French People. Nationalism spread fast throughout France. The French people celebrated the nation and the revolution during civic festivals.
Several reforms were also made during the French Revolution. All male citizens were declared equal before the law, the power of the monarchy became limited, the Legislative Assembly was established in order to make new laws, and all tax-paying male citizens received their right to elect members of the Legislative Assembly. Special privileges of the nobility were also abolished and the National Assembly declared the end to feudalism. Religious-wise, The National Assembly declared freedom of religion, and put the French Catholic Church under control of the state.
