Well, in order to generate the hash function there are following characteristics needed
1) There should be a fixed length output generated by the hash function.
2) there should be easiness for finding the hash function for a certain or given message.
3)There should not be same hash value for the two different messages.This is because it goes against the property of hash function.
4)On giving the message by the hash function than in that case the message is impossible to get.
