The charge of any object is always due to the gain or loss of electron. And there are no sub particle of an electron. Either the whole electron is gained or the whole electron is lost.
Since the charge of an electron is 1.6 × 10^-19C
The charge of any object is = n×e-
where e- is the charge of 1 electron and n is the number of electrons gained or lost.
