Well the chemical used for fruit ripening and attraction is "calcium carbide"
This chemical is actually cause the production of acetylene gas on contact with the moisture then this acetylene acts as the ethylene gas which result in the ripening of fruits just like the ripening of fruits happens naturally.
But use of this chemical proves to e fatal for the human health and can also causes the disease like cancer.

Hope this will helps.

Calcium Carbide (CaC₂) is the chemical used.

The most commonly used chemical for artificial ripening is Calcium Carbide which is a carcinogenic substance that is banned under PFA Rules, 1955 and also under Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011 made thereunder.

Unsaturated hydrocarbons such as acetylene, ethylene etc. can promote ripening and induce colour changes effectively.

Also, Ethephon and oxytocin are reportedly being used in fruit and vegetable markets and farms for artificial ripening of fruits and for increasing the size of fruits and vegetables respectively.
