they can be either monozygotic or dizygotic twins
.
1) monozygotic : the zygote on its journey from fallopian tube to the uterus if divides equally in two segments then monozygotic twins of same sex same iq and same appearance are born

2) dizygotic : if on ovulation 2 secondary oocytes are released in fallopian tube then on fertilization both of them will get converted into zygotes and will turn into twins ..they may or may not have same sex

hope it helps you plz mark it as brainliest ♡

Twin is the birth of 2 Or more young ones in a female at a time in one parturition. It occurs sometimes in a human female.

It is of two types :-

  • Fraternal/Dizygotic twins:- when two offsprings are produced by independent fertilization of two ova. It is usually to develop two separate placenta.

  • Monozygotic twins :- when two off springs are produced from single fertilized ovum. In which fertilized ovum in early stage separates into two independent cells and each further form separate young ones.
