If global temperatures rise, the glaciers feeding the rivers in northern India would reduce in size which means that the waters of Ganga, Yamuna, Brahmaputra and other such rivers would become more variable. This would impact the planting seasons.

Also, India in general is quite dependent on monsoon rains. Global temperature rise could disrupt the monsoon cycle. In which case, we can see dramatic decrease in food production in India. If that happens, we would see more rapid urbanization which could severely mess up Indian society.

Of course, destruction of fledgling infrastructure via flooding and other such seasonal calamities could deeply hurt India's economy.
