Before reproduction we go through the stage of adolescence,its a age when boys and girls get reproductive maturity and become capable to reproduce.And girls go through mensuration period and boys through all other changes.Maybe this is the answer but I am not sure for it.

After a gestation period, typically for nine months, is followed by childbirth.
