The Queen promised to treat the natives in territories controlled by the British, the same way as all other subjects.

Queen Victoria’s proclamation of 1858 was called the Government of India Act 1858. The Act called for the liquidation of the British East India Company, transfer of all assets held by the Company to the British Crown and governance of India to be carried out directly by the Queen, through her representative.

There are a few complaints that were addressed by Queen Victoria after the revolt in the year 1858 is that, she decided to give the authority to the Indian kings to rule their respective kingdoms happily without worrying about English taking over their Kingdoms.

She gave many concessions to the Zamindars and helping in safeguarding their possessions.

Pundits and the maulvis are given the freedom to perform their religious activities and continue their age old traditions happily.

She also made a promise to include Indians in the government
