During world war 1 india was the colony of British empire called BRITISH RAJ at that time.

When war broke out as being part of British empire India was at war with axis powers and to wage war British authorities started to recruit Indians in mass to aid them in war, without consulting any of the Indian leaders of that time.

India's entire Infrastructure was completely pushed to fund the war.

After the war India was one of the countries that were not my affected by the war as compared to France, Germany & U.K.

It's economy was nearby collapse due to world wide depression resulted by Wallstreet crash in 1929 but soon found itself on path of recovery.

During this time British authorities rapidly drained nearby all of countries wealth till 1947.
