Hi mate.

Thanks for asking this question.

Here is your answer,

pituitary \: gland \: =

what \: is \: pituitary \: gland =

The pituitary gland is located

underside of the brain near the hypothalamus.

It has two lobes namely the adenohypophysis

or anterior lobe and neurohypophysis or

posterior lobe. Out of These two lobes the

adenohypophysis is secretary in nature and

the posterior lobe is preservative in nature

because it stores the harmones secreted by

the hypothalamus. The pituitary gland release

about 8 types of harmones.

Their function ranges from

stimulating growth of bone and promote the

thyroid gland to release harmones that

controls your metabolism.

why \: pituitary \: gland \: becomes \: \\ \: \: \: unactive =

Tumor is the main cause for

inactivating your pituitary gland.

Example :

If you have a problems like brain

tumor, brain surgery or brain infection it may

directly affect on your pituitary secretion.

# NAME OF CERTAIN TUMORS :

(1) Brain tumor,

(2) pituitary gland tumor, ( common cause of

hypopituitarism,

(3) hypothalamus tumor,

(4) Sarcoidosis,

(5) hemochromatosis,

(6) stroke, ( cerebrovascular accidents)

(7) Tuberculosis,

symptoms \: of \: unactivated \: \\ pituitary \: gland \: =

The symptoms of the

hypopituitarism depends upon the harmones

which is not secreted by gland in enough or

sufficient amount. If pituitary gland do not

secrete a harmones in child's they becomes a

permanently short structure. If it doesn’t

produce enough follicle-stimulating hormone

or luteinizing hormone, it might cause

problems with sexual function, menstruation,

and fertility.

Thank you.

The condition that arises if the pituitary is not producing enough ‘growth hormones’ is dwarfism, also known as pituitary dwarfism. The ‘most common’ form of dwarfism is achondroplasia.

The symptoms of dwarfism involve:

i) Short stature with small limbs and bent legs

ii) Flat, short and broad feet

iii) A large head with prominent forehead

iv) Flattened nose bridge

v) Protruding jaw and misaligned teeth

vi) Presence of malformed bones can cause various physical effects.
