King Janak had kept the challenge that he world wed his daughter to whoever could lift, string and break the bow of Lord Shiva, which is said to be so heavy that no one could lift it, let alone string and break it. The wedding garland is seen between Lord Rama and Devi Sita in this painting.

Hope this helps.

King Janaka had kept a condition to choose a perfect bridegroom for his daughter Sita that he would marry her to someone who is able to lift the Shiva Dhanush. In her swayamvar, Shri Ram lifts it and gets married to her.
