Elections are held in the democratic as well as non-democratic countries. The elections can be democratic when:

• Every citizen has the right to give one vote and all the votes have the same value.

• There should be choices of candidates standing from different political parties for the voters.

• Elections should be free and fair.

• Suitable candidates must be elected.

• The candidates should work for the people and they must be elected with major percentage of votes.

The most important thing for an election to be considered democratic is that - one person, one vote, one  value and the people should be allowed to make real choice
