The conflicting ideas arise in Dr. Sadao's mind after he has brought the wounded American soldier home.

• When the American soldier was founded by Dr. Sadao in front of his house then, Dr. Sadao had been caught in a lot of conflicts and trouble. When he was operating that soldier then he was grabbed between his devotion towards his nation and his responsibility as a doctor.
• He was an expert in treating wounds of a person and he did that for that American soldier. And then, he had also informed the general about the soldier. When the soldiers of General didn't arrive there to catch that American soldier then, Dr. Sadao once again got grabbed into a conflict.
• His inherent behavior of grace and kindness stopped him from murdering the man. So, he let that soldier scamper into an unguarded island, and that's how the conflict was resolved.
