Answer:

Not all species are equally important. While one can say that every species plays an important role in the natural ecosystem in which it originally evolved, it would be inaccurate to say that every species is equally important.

Having said that it is important to conserve all species, but sometimes we do not have the choice and have to prioritise one species over another.

So some guidelines for determining which species are important

Native species are more important than Non-native species, especially if the latter is an invasive species. e.g. The Channa stratus snakehead fish is more important in Indian lakes than Invasive Tilapia or African Catfish

Evolutionarily unique species are more important than Evolutionarily non-unique species. Eg. The Kakapo from New Zealand is more important than the Rose-ringed Parakeet from Asia and Africa because Kakapo is one of its kind -the only member of the genus while Rose -ringed parakeet has 12 sister species.

Hope these examples clarify why some species matter more than others.

Yes, every species of animal is equally important. Humans do not guage their importance, because, they do not know their exact utility.

For e.g.Lady bird beetle, shark, elephant, pigeon, dog, are some of the animals, which can foretell the advent of an Earth quake in that order.

Humans learned about fungus from African ants, about Piezo electric property from Katrina spider, about dams from beavers etc.

yes very much, i endorse the views of  one does not know the exact no of species in existence right now. we do not have full information about their utility to mankind. hence all species have to be preserved as far as possible.
