Trust Heights tower was the name of two twin towers situated on Kundrathur, Porur.
Tower Faith has 2BHK and tower Belief has 3BHK in each floor.
The cost of the apartment ranged between 51 lakhs to 84 lakhs and area covered between 975 to 1600 sq.ft. The builder is Prime Sristi Housing Pvt. Ltd.
The building collapsed on 28th June, 2014 during heavy rain. A total of 61 people died in this incident and most of them are construction workers from Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Bihar.
The reason for the collapse was the soil which had poor bearing capacity and the building was not designed for correct Safe bearing capacity, poor quality of materials and improper size of members.
Some critical columns specified by designers are not constructed for enlarging the parking size. Quality of concrete mix was inadequate and site engineers those who worked were not of qualified people.
Whenever the nearby lake started overflowing, this construction area mostly got inundated.
Prof. Devdas menon from IIT madras stated the reason for collapse is deficiency in design of reinforced cement concrete columns. This collapse stunned the whole country.

Normally the compressive strength of concrete attains only 16% on 7 days and 99% on 28 days, so it is better to wait for 28 days to carry the further work by giving time for concrete to attain the strength.
Quality of construction is a must and should assessed through the cube test, slump cone test, etc. Skilled labor plays key role in construction.
Contractors should think about people life before corruption and government engineers must do their duties without getting bribe from contractors.
