 \bold{Thrombin \: converts \: fibrinogen \: into \: fibrin.}

This happens during blood clotting , when an injury had happened that had injured a blood vessel and there is outflow of blood, to stop this outflow, clotting or coagulation occurs.

This happenes in a series :--

▶The injured part releases a substance known as thrombikinase or thromboplastin.

▶This thromboplastin converts inactive prothombin into thrombin in presence of calcium ion.

▶This thrombin converts soluble fibrinogen into fibrin and act like an enzyme.

▶This fibrin with red blood cells and platelets forms a sticky network to close the blood vessel and to stop outflow of blood. This sticky network is called clot.
