This can be identified as by the process in which plants, autotrophic protists, and some bacteria use light energy to make sugars and other.

In a test cross the genotype and phenotype of a breed are examined. There are many possibilities for the traits. There can be only one trait purely dominant or the two traits are partially or equally dominant in the offspring.
The disadvantage of this test can be:
- If there is only single gene trait with total dominance then we have to acquire the plant that has recessive traits.
- Some plants take so much time to emerge the traits and clear enough to be observable. For example, sometimes an orchid bud takes about 7 years to turn into a flower.
