The total cost can be taken for the total number of words (W). Total number of words = No of pages x no of lines x No of

words.

• W_{1}= 380 ×20 ×11

•W_{2} = 280 × 22 ×10

Total number of words (W) is directly proportional to the total cost (C).

➤ W_{1}/W_{2}=C_{1}/C_{2}

➤ 380×20×11/280×22×10=19/x

➤ 19/14=19/x

➤ 14=x

∴Hence, the cost of printing a book with 280 pages, 22 lines on each page and 10 words in each line is 14.
