The reason for this is the lack of unity and nationalism between the rulers of India if they were united and had fought the revolt of 1857 then British had to leave India but due to some rulers support British managed to suppress the revolt and got confidence about their position in India

Indian sepoys sent overseas for their military jobs so feeling of dissatisfaction created in Indian sepoys they lost their confidence in leading to won revolt
