If there were no decomposition, then probably we all would die. ... No Decomposition would straightaway result in no formation of humus, which in turn will lead to infertile soil. Even though chemical fertilizers could be used but till a certain extent till the chemicals will get extinct

Wastes and the remains of dead organisms would pile up and the nutrients within the waste and dead organisms would not be released back into the ecosystem. Producers would not have enough nutrients. ... Essentially, many organisms could not exist
