Jean Paul Marat was a prominent leader during the Old regime and before that.He was also a journalist who used to speak and write about the sins of monarchy and the problems faced by the third estate.Earlier he belonged to the Jacobin Club whose leader was Maximailan Robespierre.Gradually after King Louis's death,Robespierre became the ruler and followed a policy of severe punishment and control.Marat spoke against him and differences began between them.On 13th July 1793 a woman named Corday came to his flat to give him the information of the society.At that time Marat was in his bathtub.Corday assasinated Marat and went from there.Now if Marat's wife Simone restricted the entering of a unknown person in her house,it may saved Marat's life.
