Sarpanch has big responsibility and are elected to work for the development of the village that includes infrastructure, social & economic activities and above all try to maintain harmonious relations in the villages.  They are expected to work honestly and keep away themselves from the partiality even after someone have voted against him or in their favour.

Not only having big responsibility of the village but also some way they have authoritative powers to work and perform their duties.
