Question

  • What decimal fraction of 1 hour is 20 minutes?

Solution

{\dag{\purple{\boxed{\bf{As \ we \ know}}}}}

\;\boxed{\sf{\pink{1_{\:(hour)} \leadsto 60_{\:(minutes)}  }}}

{\underline{\underline{\boxed{\bf{Understanding \ the \ question}}}}}

We have to divide \sf\purple{\dfrac{Minutes}{Minutes}} which is 60 minutes by 20 minutes after dividing it we have to reduce 20 and 60 until it's reduced fully and then it also has written to convert the fraction in Decimal form so we also have to convert and then Hence, we will get the answer.

: \implies      \sf{\dfrac{20_{\:(min)}}{60_{\:(min)}}} \ \div \sf{\dfrac{10}{10}} \ \mapsto \sf{\dfrac{2_{\:(min)}}{6_{\:(min)}}}

: \implies      \sf{\dfrac{2_{\:(min)}}{6_{\:(min)}}} \ \div \ \sf{\dfrac{2}{2}} \ \mapsto \sf{\dfrac{1}{3}}

: \implies      \sf{\dfrac{1}{3}} \: \: \leadsto 0.333

: \implies       {\underline{\underline{\boxed{\pink{\mathfrak{0.333}}}}}}

In the given fraction \sf{\dfrac{1}{3}}  3 can't be multiplied by any number which gives 10,100 or 1000 So, we can multiply it by 333 coz 333 \times 3 gives \mapsto 999 which is nearly 1000 and 1000 also has 3 zero's so that is the reason we will multiply it by 333

•°• Hence, verified! that 20 minutes is 0.333 or  \sf{\dfrac{1}{3}} of an hours
