The state of any substance is determined by the following:
• Interparticle spaces
• Interparticle attraction
• Kinetic energy
Example:
In solids have less interparticle spaces so, the attraction between the particles is more, vibration is less and kinetic energy is also less.
Thus, the particles of solid do not move and are rigid.
