When local winds or planetary winds cross equator , they get deflected from their path.
This change in path is governed by coroilis force or ferrels law.
If a wind is blowing in north west direction in southern hemisphere, it will blow in north east direction in northern hemisphere.
Winds blowing in west direction get deflected towards right and vice versa.
