Hey dear friend,

Ashoka send his son Mahendra and daughter Sanghmitra to Sri Lanka for spreading Buddhism teachings. He has described himself as Buddhashakya. He established ideals for the development mankind. These were called as Dhamma.
He arranged for Dhamma Yaatra,in which travels were initiated to Buddhist places.
In his efforts to propagate Buddhism, Ashoka built shrines and monasteries and inscribed Buddhist teachings on rocks and pillars in many places. He sent missionaries to countries as remote as Greece and Egypt.
