Birsa wanted a golden age for the tribal people. Satyug or an age of truth in which the tribal people would live a good life, construct embankments, tap natural springs, plant trees and orchards. They would practise cultivation and earn a living.

He asked the tribals not to kill one another and live honest lives. He urged them to give up liquor, uncleanliness, witchcraft and sorcery.
