So he went to where his previous meditation companions stayed, approached the five, and taught them the first lecture of the Dhamma and set the wheel of Dhamma in motion. Hearing the Buddha’s teachings they became enlightened and the first followers of the Buddha. They became the Sangha which means a community that joins and lives together and often includes four groups: monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen. After that the Buddha continued to teach the Dhamma until he was over 80 years old, upon which he passed away.
