Atahualpa the Incan Emperor was tricked into a meeting and captured for ransom by the Spanish conquistador Pizzaro, who used de Soto for accomplishing this. Atahualpa was later killed when the Spaniards heard that the Incan army was planning to attack them.

Later, Atahualpa’s brother, Manco Inca Yupanqui, joined the Spaniards, as he felt his life was in danger with the Incas, loyal to Atahualpa.

Both these incidents upset the Incans.

Hernando de Soto (1495 – 1542) was a Spanish conquistador and explorer, who led expeditions into the uncharted territories of modern-day United States and into the South Americas.
