Louisa Mebbin pointed out that the goat was in death throes from a mortal bulett wound while no trace of the rifle's deadly work could be found on the tiger. Apparantly, the beast of prey had succumbed to a heart failure caused by sudden report of the rifle and adding to it it's old senile age. Mrs. Packletide was pardonably annoyed at the discovery,.

Answer :
In the short story 'Mrs. Packletide's Tiger' by Saki, Louisa Mebbin discovered that Mrs Packletide had accidentally shot the goat instead of the tiger. The old tiger had died due to sudden heart failure from the loud noise made by the gun.
Mrs. Packletide was very annoyed at this discovery because she had expected Miss Mebbin to remain silent as she was a paid companion. However, Miss Mebbin was a very calculative and shrewd woman and she had pointed out the fact in order to extract more money out of Mrs. Packletide by blackmailing her later.
