In Mahatma Gandhi'swords the active resistance meant war without violence and solution of every problem with the help of peace. 'Satya' means truth and Agrahameans insistence. The word to word meaning of Satyagraha is insistence for truth. This term was popularized during the Indian Movement for Independence.
