- In the story "The Address" the narrator did not want to go further in the street because when the narrator went to the house of the lady who had kept numerous valuable items of her mother during the days of the war the address of the lady helped her in searching out the street where there was the house of the lady.
- But then she wanted to forget the street as after visiting the house of the lady she realized how the things which belonged to her mother were kept in an extremely bizarre manner and those had lost all their sentimental value for the narrator and the narrator then lived in a small rented room and she had no place to keep all these things and even the lady behaved toward her very insolently as she straight refused to recognise her. The lady did not let her come into the house. That was why she did not want to go further in the street.
