The 'Tryst with Destiny' is an English speech given by The first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, on the eve of India’s independence on August 14, 1947,  in which he appealed to his countrymen the only political element in the speech which is his intention to fight poverty and disease. He made the speech as ethical as possible. He also describes and explained what India is all about.

Nehru explains to the people the spectacular and poetic tale of India. Furthermore, Nehru refers to India as “she”. And he assures the countrymen that India shall awake.

Moreover, Nehru provides listeners with a clear image of the country and he attempts to trigger patriotism in the heart of every Indian.
