Mewar's history spoke about several bold mothers, Panna Dai was one of them. Her patriotism and loyalty has no boundaries.  She sacrificed her own son for the sake of Mewar’s future. Her loyalty and courage will give goose-bumps.

When Mewar was surrounded by evil thoughts and conspiracy, it was in the hands of Maharana Sangram Singh. The dedication and warrior ship earned him the title of ‘Rana Sanga’.

He had 4 sons. Udai singh was the youngest among the four.During the battle, Udai was given to Panna dai, who was a truthful maidservant in the Palace. When all the others lost the battle and died, it was Udai Singh responsibilty to take up the throne.

Since Udai was only 14 when he was too young to understand the political affairs. Hence, Banvir  was invited to guard Udai Singh and to take care of other regents. Banvir was the illicit son of  Prithviraj, Rana Sanga’s elder brother. Because of fight with Rana sanga, Prithviraj was exiled from being the Crown Prince.

After his death, Banvir considered himself as the rightful heir to the throne. Banvir somehow conspired to kill Udai and Vikramaditya, who was his only hurdles.

Banvir assassinated Vikramaditya. Meanwhile, Banvir's intention was known to Panna Dai, through a maidservant. She also knew that Udai Singh is the last hope to save Mewar.

She firmly instructed the maidservant to take away Udai singh to the bank of the river. She then, with all courage, placed her only son Chandan in the Prince's bed covering him with a blanket.

When Banvir entered her house and asked her where is Udai, she just pinpointed to the bed where her son was sleeping. In a moment , her son was killed in front of her.
