Answer:

Portia insists Bassanio to share his "anxieties" after reading the letter Antonio had sent. Thereupon, he shares the UNPLEASENT'ST words that ever were blotted on the paper. Bassanio then reveals his condition of being penniless and that he has borrowed money from Antonio. He mentioned about the bond and explained how Antonio's life is at stake. He is sure that nothing, except Antonio's flesh, will satisfy the Jew, Shylock's greed. Portia then insists to hasten her betrothal so that Bassanio can then lend to his friend, Antonio's rescue, using her money to the debt, adding further that she is willing to offer much more than the bond.

She is ready to give everything that she has for saving his husband's dearest friend. It is her quick thinking ability, her intellect, her concern for humanity at large which makes her send Bassanio.
