Explanation:

After the vernacular press act (March 1878), Somprakash roused the ire of the Government and publication was suspended for a year. After providing written assurance of allegiance to the Government, it reappeared on 19 April 1880.

Answer:

'Somprakash',under the editorship of Dwarkanath Bidyabhusan wrote articles on the misrule of the British government, The Vernacular Press Act ,the oppression of the indigo planters on the poor Indian peasants. This agitated the British government and they asked the editor of the paper to tender apology . When the editor refused to do so , the newspaper was banned temporarily by Lord Lytton.
